I crossed the graceful Potomac River early one Sunday morning. Flowing eastward towards Washington, the waters that morning were gentle, with a quiet beauty whose sparkle shone from within. It was the bright light that held my watch: sunshine pushing its way behind moody clouds as if to tell me they had silver linings. They were spectacular. I followed that light on the river until I reached the other side and could no longer see the river. But I would not forget her. This painting celebrates those wonderful unexpected moments when time stops.
A breathtaking 36” x 60” in scale, this painting is a statement piece to complement an entry foyer, stairway landing, or focal wall. There is a magical depth to the perspective which draws the viewer into this piece and the feeling that one is indeed on the river.
